Got milk? series two, part five

No need for sugar or tea

A gentlemen always takes some time for leisure, even in the middle of a war. So what better was to spice up your tea time ten with 3 servings of dairy a day? Studies suggest the nutrients can help you maintain a healthy weight plus the protein helps build muscle for a lean body. I don't have a bad feeling about this, why would you?

Books I am reading

"You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me." ~~~C.S. Lewis

Here is a list of the books I have been reading and am planing to read. (Warning: this post contains a lot of C.S. Lewis's books. You have been warned! lol Oh, and click on the title of the book to see it on Amazon).

One of my most favorite Narnia books. (My other favorites are The Horse and his boy, The Magician's nephew, Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Last Battle). It's so much fun to be pulled into Narnia, just like the Pevensies. When I went and saw the movie last year I read this book right before we left for the movie theater so I had the whole thing in my head. :) I would highly recommend this and all the other Narnia books to everyone.

This is the first of a series of manga books based off the game The Legend of Zelda. I have never played the game before but I really enjoyed these books. It reads like a tradishional Japanese manga books, where you read it backwards and right to left. But it is in english. The drawing are really cool and fun to look at. I almost want to get a copy just to color. Ha! I have only read book one and two, but there are more out there. I even think there are books about the other Zelda games. It's definitely fun to read.

I found this at a local used book store. I always wanted to know the chronology of the books. So I am really happy about that. The book talks about Lewis, his life and how he wrote the books. It gives a great description of each book and the advents that happen en-between each story. Probably my favorite chapter was all about Aslan and how he relates to God. I had a really good time with is book.

I have always loved Winnie-the-Pooh books. My dad read them to me when I was little, I have grown up with these memorable books. So imagine my excitement when I found out someone wrote a sequel. I could not wait to get is and read it. And I was not to disappointed. The books is whity, charming and it made me laugh which the original books always did. The story is very wonderfully done, it sounds like it would have been written by A.A. Milne. But yet there was something missing, I can't quite put my finger on it. I really enjoyed it and would totally read in again but it will never top the original. But I would still give it a try, as it's a very good read and lot's of fun.

Books I am planing on reading:
Ok, I know what you are thinking. Jane Austen and zombies? I thought the same thing until I read Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Ben H. Winters. It was surprisingly good. What they did is take the original text of Jane Austen and added on to it. I really enjoyed S.S. and Sea Monsters, it was funny and very creative. If Jane Austen was alive and wrote a book about sea monsters, I think it would be this book. So I am going to try P.P. and zombies. I am REALLY not into zombies but I think I will like it. I have a friend who is a HUGE fan of Jane Austen and she read the book and loved it. I will write about it when I finish it.

Mr. Batson is one of my most FAVORITE authors of all time. (He wrote The Door Within trilogy and two pirate books). I also really love Mr. Hopper's work. (The White Lion chronicles). They have teamed up to write a book series called The Berinfell Prophecies. I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOO EXSITED!!!!!! I can not wait to read this book! The next book is called Venom and Song and will come out next year. I can not wait till I get it from the library. ^-^

I hope you all have a good week, are staying warm (if it's cold where you are. It's really cold here) and that you are enjoying the season so far. Take care all!

So thankful!

Hello my dear friends!

Today is Thanksgiving, the day the pilgrims celebrated and gave thanks for all that they had received in the new world. Every Thanksgiving at dinner we have a tradition of everyone gets three corn kernels and we pass around a small bowl. Everyone takes turns putting their corn in the bowl and saying aloud three things what they are thankful for. So I would like to share with you what I am thankful for this year. But I am going to be more than three because I have so much to be thankful for! ^-^

1: I am thankful for my wonderful, crazy, loving, whacked out family God has given me. (Yes, I am looking at you dad!;)

2: I am thankful for my volunteer job at my local library. I have been so blessed to work and make friends with the wonderful people that work there. Especially my friend Linda, who taught me how to cover a book.

3: I am thankful for my new digital camera. (thanks mom, grandma and dad!)

4: I am thankful for my amazing and loving friends online. Especially Michele, Imagination, The Queen of Rose's and The LEGO Man! I lOOOOOOVE you all!!!!

5: And last but not least, I am thankful for God's undying love. That He sent His Son to die on the cross so that I might me rescued from the pit of sin and despair so that I might walk in the holy land of love and goodness!

And I am thankful for all you readers! It means so much to me! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by your family!!!

A few quotes I love

Hello all! Here are some of my most favorite quotes. Enjoy!

"The gulf's enchanted, where the Sirens sing--- and coral reeds lie bare, where the cold sea-maids rise to sun their streaming hair." (I do not know who wrote this, sorry.).

"Children have to be educated, but they have also to be left to educate themselves." ~Abbe` Dimnet

"What i like best is a book that's at least funny once in a while... what really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though." ~J.D. Salinger

It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts as for that subtle something that quality of air that emanation for old trees that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit." ~Robert Louis Stevenson

"Thank goodness I was never sent to school it would have rubbed me of some of my originality."~Beatrix Potter

"It may be possible to do without dancing entirely. Instances have been known of young people passing many, many months successively without being at any ball of any description, and no material injury accrue either to body or mind; but when a beginning is made -- when the felicities of rapid motion have one been, though slightly, felt -- it mist be a very heavy set that does not ask for more" ~Jane Austen

Cloud Warriors

Here is a short story I wrote in November. I was on vacation and I had just got a new digital camera. So I was taking a bunch of photos. I had taken the photo and the story was inspired by it. I am hoping to do some drawings to go with this. Enjoy!

Have you ever looked at the clouds and tried to see what shapes you could find? Well what you may not know is that some of the clouds in the sky are really ships.
In the Beginning of the world, after what is known at the Great Betrayal The Mighty One felt that the sky must be protected from the enemy who craved to take control of all life on Earth. So He selected a man and woman who was brave and strong in spirit to become the first air warriors. They founded the Cloud Warriors, a advanced race who flew in ships covered in clouds and created amazing technology and weapons.
Their ships appear to be mere clouds but if you where to really see them up close you would find a whole ship, amazing vehicles complete with guns, force shields and living quarters. Young CW are trained in aerial combat, weaponry, science, literature, including the Word of The Mighty One, and knowledge of life on Earth.
These humans have never lived on Earth, only visiting it on their missions. Angels help the CW in their fight, wearing white robes and silver high-tech armor. Where their armor comes from or what it's made of only a few know.
The angels and CW fight against the Clouds of Darkness (COD), a army of the Enemy. The Prince of Darkness stole the souls of humans twisted and broke them to be his dark warriors. When you see dark brooding clouds you are looking at the enemy of the sky.
CW and COD are always fighting for control of the Earth's atmosphere and the human soul. You know what thunder and lightning storms are like. They, in truth, are fierce, intense sky battles. Armed with the latest in ASG (Atomic Space Gear) the CW are always on alert, keeping the sky free from the COD's grasp.
So if you ever look at the clouds on a sunny day, think of the brave Cloud Warriors fighting to keep you safe.

In honor of National Writing Month Michelle is doing interviews with writers on her blog. She has kindly asked me to do a interview with her. You can find the interview here.

Thanks Michelle! May the Force be with you!

The Clone Wars DVD review with Chris and Edward

Hello friends! I just got The Clone Wars season one DVD set. Chris and Edward were so excited to get it they insisted on doing a review of it. So take over guys!

Hey! This is Chris!

And this is Edward.

So here we go with our review of The Clone Wars season one.

So to start the set comes with four DVD's containing 22 episodes.

And a 68-page production journal with original sketches and artist notes.

It would have been nice if the booklet came out, but it is attached to the box.

That is true. But it's cool to see the artwork, most of it has never seen before.

Some of my favorite episodes are Destroy Malevolence, Dooku Captured and Innocents of Ryloth.

My favorites is Rookies, The Gungan General and The Hidden Enemy. The most shocking episode in my opinion is Hostage Crisis. Cad Bane is a very tricky bounty hunter.

Here are even hidden easter eggs on the featurettes menu. Here is a example.

Make sure you are at the top of the page and click the left arrow twice. A small area to the left should light up. Then click enter.
There are commercials for Star Wars things, like the website and season two.

Look! It's you!

There is a feturettes for every episode. They are great info about each episode.
It's funny, I don't like behind-the-scene stuff. I just like to enjoy the movie.
He's kinda weird that way.
Thanks!

We can't wait for season two to come out. Of what we have seen so far it is so awesome!
I have been very happy with the way both seasons have been going.

OOOHHH! Shiny!
Agreed.

Overall we are very content with season one.
It has been so much fun to watch!

Well, thanks for letting us share out thoughts with you all.

It has been a pleasure. Take care and May the Force be with you!

Very funny. Chris.
*Snicker!*

Thanks guys! That was fun to read! Have a great week everyone.

Got milk? Part four

Being small is not bad

All my life I have wanted to be a pod racer. My mom says that having at least 3 servings of dairy a day will help me be a better racer. Studies suggest the nutrients can help you maintain a healthy weight, plus the protein helps build muscle for a lean body. Maybe there would be more human pod racers if we drank more milk. Or maybe I am just special.

A fall poem.

Here is a poem I wrote a few years ago. I am very happy with it, it's one of my favorite poems I have wrote so far. Enjoy!

Fall.

Cast away like a damp old rag, the summer is gone, leaving the fall to come.

With it's brittle leaves and darken sky, I will sit by my fire, sipping my tea.

And reading a book of sunny day's gone by.

Thanks you Pink Fairy for the photo.

Got milk? Part one

Welcome dear friends!

I was looking in a magazine one day and I saw a got milk add. I thought it would be funny if they would do them with Star Wars characters. So I decided to do my own. I will do them in a series, each one of a different character. To start I will do part one: Anakin Skywalker! Please enjoy! (Got milk is owned by the rightful owners. I own nothing.)

I'm have way there.

Here is one of those projects which take FOREVER but one day you finish them

I am knitting a pair of fingerless gloves. The instructions are here in this video.

I started these last year and I finished one but realized it was to small. It would not rap around my hand. So I had to start all over again and cast on more stitches. And now I am DONE with one! It is very easy to knit, you have to know how to do a purl but it's not hard to learn. I am not a huge fan of knitting but I really enjoyed making these. I just started the second one.I am planing to get a pretty button to put on them.

I hope you all are having wonderful fall weather and happy fall!
