Books I am reading

"You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me." ~~~C.S. Lewis

Here is a list of the books I have been reading and am planing to read. (Warning: this post contains a lot of C.S. Lewis's books. You have been warned! lol Oh, and click on the title of the book to see it on Amazon).

One of my most favorite Narnia books. (My other favorites are The Horse and his boy, The Magician's nephew, Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Last Battle). It's so much fun to be pulled into Narnia, just like the Pevensies. When I went and saw the movie last year I read this book right before we left for the movie theater so I had the whole thing in my head. :) I would highly recommend this and all the other Narnia books to everyone.

This is the first of a series of manga books based off the game The Legend of Zelda. I have never played the game before but I really enjoyed these books. It reads like a tradishional Japanese manga books, where you read it backwards and right to left. But it is in english. The drawing are really cool and fun to look at. I almost want to get a copy just to color. Ha! I have only read book one and two, but there are more out there. I even think there are books about the other Zelda games. It's definitely fun to read.

I found this at a local used book store. I always wanted to know the chronology of the books. So I am really happy about that. The book talks about Lewis, his life and how he wrote the books. It gives a great description of each book and the advents that happen en-between each story. Probably my favorite chapter was all about Aslan and how he relates to God. I had a really good time with is book.

I have always loved Winnie-the-Pooh books. My dad read them to me when I was little, I have grown up with these memorable books. So imagine my excitement when I found out someone wrote a sequel. I could not wait to get is and read it. And I was not to disappointed. The books is whity, charming and it made me laugh which the original books always did. The story is very wonderfully done, it sounds like it would have been written by A.A. Milne. But yet there was something missing, I can't quite put my finger on it. I really enjoyed it and would totally read in again but it will never top the original. But I would still give it a try, as it's a very good read and lot's of fun.

Books I am planing on reading:
Ok, I know what you are thinking. Jane Austen and zombies? I thought the same thing until I read Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Ben H. Winters. It was surprisingly good. What they did is take the original text of Jane Austen and added on to it. I really enjoyed S.S. and Sea Monsters, it was funny and very creative. If Jane Austen was alive and wrote a book about sea monsters, I think it would be this book. So I am going to try P.P. and zombies. I am REALLY not into zombies but I think I will like it. I have a friend who is a HUGE fan of Jane Austen and she read the book and loved it. I will write about it when I finish it.

Mr. Batson is one of my most FAVORITE authors of all time. (He wrote The Door Within trilogy and two pirate books). I also really love Mr. Hopper's work. (The White Lion chronicles). They have teamed up to write a book series called The Berinfell Prophecies. I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOO EXSITED!!!!!! I can not wait to read this book! The next book is called Venom and Song and will come out next year. I can not wait till I get it from the library. ^-^

I hope you all have a good week, are staying warm (if it's cold where you are. It's really cold here) and that you are enjoying the season so far. Take care all!

"You said you where going to get rid of it." "No, I said I'd take care of him. We can't kill him now. I just bandaged his head. It, it, it would be like murdering a guest." ~Nikabrik and Trufflehunter talking about Caspian in Prince Caspian
